Shuichi doesn't use it much because he has enough trouble with modern technology, let alone this fossil.

Among his "classmates", Shuichi is a boy who stands out by not standing out at all. He is a quiet, intelligent, and level-headed individual with a talent for solving mysteries. However, he has a very weak personality, and is consequently incredibly timid and submissive. Very easily flustered and startled, it doesn't take much to make him blush and/or break out into a nervous sweat. Despite his Ultimate title, he has a startling lack of self-confidence and a very poor opinion of himself. Though, with the help of his friends, he has started to improve in this area. He struggles with initiating and maintaining eye contact, though he has at least stopped wearing a ball cap for the express purpose of avoiding others' eyes. Shuichi is also very compassionate, kind-hearted, and polite. Despite his self-acknowledged weakness, he tries to do whatever he can to help those in need. He is eager to please to an absolutely alarming degree, leading some of his friends to label him as masochistic because he always seems "so happy when he's being bossed around". He is something of a doormat in that regard, as his vast well of patience means he will put up with just about any treatment from others. This is especially true of those he considers to be his friends. He is a surprisingly emotional individual, though more in the sense that he feels things very deeply as opposed to being someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. Shuichi was originally a shade, however he was incredibly unhappy with this for a multitude of reasons. In September 2020, he asked Mana to change him into a vampire, and on October 1st, he actually went through with the quest she gave him. However...things did not quite go as planned. Though his changes initially lead him to believe the spell had worked, within weeks it became obvious that he'd actually become a demon instead of a vampire. Key Traits: intelligent, compassionate, observant, level-headed, submissive, weak, shy, low self-esteem, nervous, easily depressed MONSTER ABILITIES Immunity to fire: Fire cannot burn Shuichi, nor does it cause him any pain to touch. He is not, however, entirely burnproof and can be scalded/burned by hot water or oil. WEAKNESSES Monster Hunger: Shuichi needs to feed on a soul at least once a month, otherwise he will lose his sanity/sense of self and go on a soul-sucking spree. blood. He changed his feeding method in November 2020 with the help of Mana. His hunger rate remained the same, that is one human per month, however since he doesn't want to kill, he is forced to feed more frequently in smaller portions. He usually feeds from blood bags stolen from hospitals or from Kokichi. However, due to the latter's nature as a nephilim, feeding on even a small amount of his blood weakens Shuichi and draining too much of it at once will kill him. Holy Magic/Iconography: Salt: Though not fatal, even a pinch of salt can weaken (and sicken) Shuichi if he touches or ingests it. The more salt, the stronger the weakening/sickening will be and ingesting it is worse than touching. He cannot cross barriers made from it.
